Recent Issues and Reflections

iNote - Recent Issues and Reflections

Recently, I’ve been busy making a living and have neglected introspection. Taking advantage of this quiet, rainy weekend, I’ve decided to calmly organize current issues and reflect on them along with possible strategies.

Fragmented Focus

The most significant problem right now is that my attention is infinitely fragmented. The main distractions are short videos, WeChat messages, and remote audio meetings. Tasks requiring focused time and energy are often interrupted by trivial matters, forcing me to restart my thoughts repeatedly. The issue has become so severe that, even without external disturbances, I unconsciously pick up my phone to scroll through short videos. This problem needs to be addressed urgently.

Writing Neglect

The second issue is a long-standing lack of writing. There are always countless excuses not to write, while the benefits of writing are never firmly remembered. In this era of information overload, it’s even more essential to calm the mind and write. Writing is an effective means to clarify thoughts and a valuable tool for decision-making. When ideas are put into words, they can be scrutinized for feasibility. Only when they are written down can one recognize the immaturity of certain ideas. Thoughts that aren’t put into writing aren’t real reflections.

Leveraging CHATGPT

While CHATGPT has proven immensely helpful, writing is the sole exception. Many previously published texts were generated by CHATGPT. Although the output was more polished than my own writing, it lacked soul. CHATGPT can assist individuals and organizations in almost every scenario, but it offers no benefit in creative writing. Over-reliance on it may degrade one’s creativity and writing ability. However, CHATGPT is not entirely useless for writing—it can format text, pose counter-questions, or help refine and supplement ideas. The official CHATGPT guidelines on using it for writing can serve as a helpful reference.

Domain Name Reflections

Recently, I’ve been considering changing the domain name of inote.xyz. The main reasons are that .xyz domains don’t carry as much weight as .com domains, and I’ve grown tired of the current domain. After spending considerable time registering various random domains, I ultimately realized that inote.xyz is still the best. Here, I solemnly declare that for the next 40 years, I will not change the domain name and will focus on building valuable content. The domain itself isn’t what matters—it’s about consistently creating meaningful work.

Content and Language Strategy

Regarding website content, I was previously enthusiastic about using CHATGPT to translate content into multiple languages. However, since I don’t understand these languages, maintaining and updating the translations became challenging. Moving forward, I’ll adjust the multilingual support strategy to include only Chinese and English. Other languages will no longer be supported.

Investment Revival

Being preoccupied with work and the website has caused me to neglect another important area: investment. With the website now set up and work entering a stable phase, it’s time to resume focus on investments. I plan to get back on track with updates and strategies in the near future.
